The largest domestic carrier is LATAM airlines, there are also flights operated by Avianca, Peruvian Airlines, Viva Air and Sky Airlines. If you are flying on LATAM, then if you have your flight reservation code, then you can check your flight details and reserve seats on the My Trips section of the website. And you can check-in 48 hours before departure.

Lima can be a very busy airport at times, therefore we recommend that you atre at the check-in area 2 hours before departure for domestic flights. And three hours before departure for international flights.

For domestic flights, there is an allowance of one peace of check-in luggage weighing no more than 23 kg and carry on luggage of 8kg.

Machu Picchu trains

The train services to Machu Picchu are used almost exclusively by foreign tourists, with confirmed schedules and reserved seats. They have comfortable carriages, with large windows, on-board snacks/drinks service and toilets. The seat locations are automatically assigned by the train company when  the tickets are purchased, there is no way we can choose or change seats. Although as you board the train, the onboard staff will listen to any requests to change seats for any reasonable motive. When boarding the train, you may be asked to show your passport as identification, which the train staff will check against the name shown on your ticket.

Most travellers only spend one or two days at Machu picchu, so there is no reason to take take all your luggage. Also, restricted space in the carriages means that the train companies have a luggage policy limiting carry-on items to just small hand luggage no larger than 157cm/61" (height + length + width) and 5.0 kg/11 lb in weight. Most travellers take bags which they have used as hand luggage on flights. Apart from the bag allowances, passengers can take a small handbag or camera case. All other belongings can be stored at hotels in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
